As war seems to be a constant in daily news and discussions, the public often loses
sight of the real distribution of conflicts around the globe.
ACLED (Armed Conflict Location
& Event Data) is an independent, impartial global monitor that contains 485,991 recorded conflict and protest events
worldwide, describing the type of event, its geographic location, and the population affected.
Through data visualization and interactive elements, we seek to provide a website which makes use of
this data and renders it in an
accessible and understandable way to a wider audience.
